Katabolic — science-based fitness

About

About Katabolic

Katabolic is a project by SaaSquatch Ltd, a London-based digital agency. Our founder built this site after years of frustration with fitness content that either tries to sell you something at every turn, or recycles the same broscience that circulated on forums fifteen years ago.

What we actually do

Every guide on Katabolic cites real research — mostly meta-analyses and systematic reviews where they exist, individual RCTs where they don't. We don't invent mechanisms or exaggerate effect sizes. When the evidence is weak, we say so.

Our founder tests supplements personally before recommending them. We don't publish star ratings based on ingredient labels alone. If a product doesn't hold up — flavour, mixability, value per gram of protein — we say that too, even if we earn an affiliate commission on it.

Education first

Most fitness sites are structured to push you towards a purchase as fast as possible. Katabolic is structured the opposite way. The guides exist to teach you how cutting, recomposition, and progressive overload actually work. The supplement reviews exist to help you spend less, not more. The tools are free calculators that give you useful numbers without requiring an account or email address.

We don't have sponsored rankings. No supplement brand can pay to appear at the top of a comparison. Our affiliate links are disclosed clearly, and they only point to products we would genuinely recommend to a friend.

Free tools, forever

The calculators — TDEE, macros, protein intake, body fat, 1RM, cut duration — are free and will stay free. No paywalls, no email gates, no upsells. You can use every tool on the tools pagewithout giving us anything in return. That's the point.

Who this is for

People who want to get lean without buying into an ecosystem. People who are frustrated that the same five articles about "the best fat burner" all rank at the top of Google and all recommend whatever pays the highest affiliate rate. People who want to understand why something works before they do it.

If that's you, you're in the right place. Start with the cutting guides, run your numbers through the TDEE calculator, and come back when you have questions.
